About Ampuflyer
We are a community-led project supporting people who have lost a limb, and the people around them, in every country.
Losing a limb changes everything at once: your body, your work, your sense of who you are. Good care makes an enormous difference, but around the world most amputees never get a prosthesis that fits, and many never meet another amputee.
Ampuflyer exists to close those gaps. We do three things:
- Support: a starter guide, a directory of services and free peer mentoring from people who have been there.
- Fundraising: campaigns for individual limbs, paid directly to clinics, and a recycling programme for unused prosthetic parts.
- Awareness: real stories that change how people see limb loss, and prevention information that helps people with diabetes keep their limbs.
What we believe
- Lived experience leads
- Amputees shape what we do and how we talk about it.
- Everywhere means everywhere
- Support should not depend on which country you were born in.
- Every gift is visible
- You can see what each campaign has raised and where the money went.
- Dignity, not pity
- We tell stories of full lives, not tragedies.
Why "Ampuflyer"?
A flyer spreads the word, and a flyer takes off. We want to do both: get the message out about limb loss, and help people get moving again, wherever in the world they live.
